In these Regulations \u2014 \u201cCaymanian\u201d has the meaning assigned by section 2 of the Immigration (Transition) Law, 2018; \u201cinfected country\u201d means Mainland China, and any other country which the Cabinet declares from time to time, by notice published in the Gazette, as a country where there is known or thought to be sustained human-to-human transmission of Covid-19, or from which there is a high risk of importation of infection or contamination (with Covid-19) via travel from that country to the Islands; \u201cresident\u201d means a person who has legal and ordinary residence in the Islands in accordance with the Immigration (Transition) Law, 2018; \u201cship\u201d means every description of vessel used in navigation; Regulation 3 SL 19 of 2020 \u201ctourist visitor\u201d has the meaning assigned by section 2 of the Immigration (Transition) Law, 2018; and \u201cvirus\u201d means the virus known as Covid-19.\", \"element\": \"section\", \"heading\": null}, {\"eId\": \"sec_3\", \"num\": \"3.\", \"text\": \"Refusal of entry to the Islands by tourist visitors after visit to an infected country 3. No tourist visitor shall be permitted to land in the Islands, whether by ship or aircraft, where that person has travelled to, from or through an infected country within a period of fourteen days or less immediately preceding the tourist visitor\u2019s arrival in the Islands. 4. Persons in the Islands who have travelled to, from or through an infected country within a period of fourteen days or less 4. (1) Where \u2014 (a) a Caymanian or resident of the Islands who, at the date of commencement of these Regulations, is in the Islands and had travelled to, from or through an infected country within a period of fourteen days or less immediately preceding that person\u2019s arrival in the Islands; or (b) a Caymanian or resident of the Islands who, at the date of commencement of these Regulations, had travelled to, from or through an infected country within a period of fourteen days or less immediately preceding that person\u2019s plans to travel to the Islands, the person shall, for a period of fourteen days of the departure of the person from an infected country, remain (when in the Islands, in the case of a Caymanian or resident specified in subparagraph (b)) for the purposes of surveillance by the Medical Officer of Health, at the person\u2019s home or such other place of quarantine as specified by the Medical Officer of Health and subject to such conditions as are provided by the Medical Officer of Health. (2) Where a tourist visitor in the Islands who, at the date of commencement of these Regulations, is in the Islands and had travelled to, from or through an infected country, within a period of fourteen days or less immediately preceding the tourist visitor\u2019s arrival in the Islands the tourist visitor shall, for the purposes of surveillance by the Medical Officer of Health, be quarantined at a quarantine facility specified by the Medical Officer of Health until the expiration of fourteen days from that tourist visitor\u2019s departure from an infected country. (3) Where \u2014 (a) any person in the Islands who, at the date of commencement of these Regulations, had travelled to, from or through an infected country within a period of fourteen days or less immediately preceding the person\u2019s arrival in the Islands; and (b) that person shows respiratory symptoms or symptoms of the virus, Regulation 5 SL 19 of 2020 the person shall be managed under the direction of the Medical Officer of Health and shall be quarantined at a quarantine facility specified by the Medical Officer of Health for a period of up to fourteen days, or until the Medical Officer of Health determines that the person is fully recovered, whichever is later.\", \"element\": \"section\", \"heading\": null}, {\"eId\": \"sec_5\", \"num\": \"5.\", \"text\": \"Powers, duties and functions of the Medical Officer of Health 5. (1) In carrying out powers, duties and functions under these Regulations, the Medical Officer of Health has all the powers, duties and functions specified in Part VI of the Law and shall exercise any other relevant powers, duties and functions specified \u2014 (a) under regulation 12 of the Public Health (Communicable Diseases) Regulations (1997 Revision) which a medical officer would otherwise be required to exercise; and (b) under the Public Health (Quarantine) Regulations (1997 Revision) which a quarantine officer would otherwise be required to exercise. (2) Subject to paragraph (1)(b), the Public Health (Quarantine) Regulations (1997 Revision) shall apply for the purposes of these Regulations with any necessary modifications. 6. Expiry 6. These Regulations cease to have effect at the end of the period of two years beginning on the day on which they come into force or at such other date as may be specified by Cabinet and notified in the Gazette. tourist visitor shall be permitted to land in the Islands, whether by ship or aircraft,\nwhere that person has travelled to, from or through an infected country within a period\nof fourteen days or less immediately preceding the tourist visitor\u2019s arrival in the\nIslands.\n4.\nPersons in the Islands who have travelled to, from or through an infected\ncountry within a period of fourteen days or less\n4.\n(1) Where \u2014\n(a)\na Caymanian or resident of the Islands who, at the date of commencement\nof these Regulations, is in the Islands and had travelled to, from or through\nan infected country within a period of fourteen days or less immediately\npreceding that person\u2019s arrival in the Islands; or\n(b) a Caymanian or resident of the Islands who, at the date of commencement\nof these Regulations, had travelled to, from or through an infected country\nwithin a period of fourteen days or less immediately preceding that\nperson\u2019s plans to travel to the Islands,\nthe person shall, for a period of fourteen days of the departure of the person from\nan infected country, remain (when in the Islands, in the case of a Caymanian or\nresident specified in subparagraph (b)) for the purposes of surveillance by the\nMedical Officer of Health, at the person\u2019s home or such other place of\nquarantine as specified by the Medical Officer of Health and subject to such\nconditions as are provided by the Medical Officer of Health.\n(2) Where a tourist visitor in the Islands who, at the date of commencement of these\nRegulations, is in the Islands and had travelled to, from or through an infected\ncountry, within a period of fourteen days or less immediately preceding the\ntourist visitor\u2019s arrival in the Islands the tourist visitor shall, for the purposes of\nsurveillance by the Medical Officer of Health, be quarantined at a quarantine\nfacility specified by the Medical Officer of Health until the expiration of\nfourteen days from that tourist
