The following changes would be made - (a) the designation \u2018Executive Director of Information\u2019 would be changed to \u2018Executive Director of Information and Communications Technology\u2019; and (b) the designation \u2018Executive Director of Energy\u2019 would be changed to \u2018Executive Director of Energy and Utilities\u2019. The Bill also seeks to confer, on the Office, responsibility for the water sector. (1) This Law may be cited as the Utility Regulation and Competition (Amendment) Law, 2017. (2) This Law shall come into force on such date as may be appointed by Order made by the Cabinet and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Law and in relation to different matters. 2. The Utility Regulation and Competition Law, 2016, in this Law referred to as the \u201cprincipal Law\u201d, is amended in section 2(1) as follows - Short title and commencement Amendment of section 2 of the Utility Regulation and Competition Law, 2016 - interpretation Law 49 of 2016 The Utility Regulation and Competition (Amendment) Bill, 2017 (a) in the definition of the words \u201cExecutive Director of Energy\u201d by inserting before the words \u201cof the Office\u201d the words \u201cand Utilities\u201d; and (b) in the definition of the words \u201cExecutive Director of Information\u201d by inserting before the words \u201cof the Office\u201d the words \u201cand Communications Technologies\u201d. 3. The principal Law is amended in section 29(1) as follows - (a) in paragraph (a) by inserting after the word \u201cInformation\u201d the words \u201cand Communications Technologies\u201d; and (b) in paragraph (b) by inserting after the word \u201cEnergy\u201d the words \u201cand Utilities\u201d. 4.
