This\nitem of legislation is currently only available in its original format.\nSTATUTORY INSTRUMENTS\n1992 No.226\nCARIBBEAN AND NORTH ATLANTIC\nTERRITORIES\nThe Cayman Islands (Constitution) (Amendment) Order 1992\nMade       -      -      -      -\n11th February 1992\nLaid before Parliament\n19th February 1992\nComing into force on a day to be appointed under\nsection 1(3)\nAt the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 11th day of February 1992\nPresent,\nThe Queen\u2019s Most Excellent Majesty in Council\nHer Majesty, by virtue of the powers conferred upon Her by sections 5 and 7 of the West Indies Act\n1962(1) and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of\nHer Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:\n1.\u2014(1)  This Order may be cited as the Cayman Islands (Constitution) (Amendment) Order 1992\nand shall be construed as one with the Cayman Islands (Constitution) Order 1972(2).\n(2)  The Cayman Islands (Constitution) Order 1972 and this Order may be cited together as the\nCayman Islands (Constitution) Orders 1972 to 1992.\n(3)  This Order shall come into force on such date as the Governor, acting in his discretion, may\nappoint by proclamation published in the Gazette.\nCitation, construction and commencement.\n2. Section 17(2)(c) of the Constitution of the Cayman Islands shall be amended by substituting\nthe word \u201cfifteen\u201d for the word \u201ctwelve\u201d.\nAmendment of Section 17 of Constitution.\n3. Section 34(2) of the Constitution of the Cayman Islands shall be amended by substituting the\nword \u201ceight\u201d for the word \u201cseven\u201d.
