Citation 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Animals (Exportation, Importation, Protection and Control) Regulations (2024 Revision). PART 2 - Export and Import of Animals\", \"element\": \"section\", \"heading\": null}, {\"eId\": \"sec_2\", \"num\": \"2.\", \"text\": \"Exportation of live animals 2. No live animal may be exported from the Islands save under licence issued by the Director of the Department of Agriculture (the \u201cDirector\u201d), after application made to the Director in writing and payment of the fee prescribed in the First Schedule.\", \"element\": \"section\", \"heading\": null}, {\"eId\": \"sec_3\", \"num\": \"3.\", \"text\": \"Licence for importation of live animals 3. The forms of licences for the import and export of live animals are prescribed in the Second Schedule. Regulation 4 (2024 Revision) 4. Importation of carcasses 4. (1) No carcass, whether fresh, frozen, chilled, cured, pickled or otherwise preserved or treated, of any animal, nor any part of such carcass, with the exception of poultry, shall be imported into the Islands from \u2014 (a) the Republic of Ireland; (b) the United Kingdom or any other country of the European Union; and (c) any other country or territory in which bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) has been identified by local authorities, until such time as the Director may specify by notice published in the Gazette. (2) No carcass, whether fresh, frozen, chilled, cured, pickled or otherwise preserved or treated, of any animal, nor any part of such carcass, mentioned in column 1 of the Third Schedule, nor any part of such carcass, shall be imported into the Islands unless it is imported \u2014 (a) directly from one of the countries specified in the corresponding part of column 2 of the Third Schedule; and (b) in accordance with such conditions as may be laid down by the Director. (3) Thoroughly cooked boneless meat may be imported into the Islands in hermetically sealed metal cans from any country with the exception of \u2014 (a) the Republic of Ireland; and (b) the United Kingdom or any other country of the European Union. (4) Notwithstanding subregulation (3), thoroughly cooked boneless meat derived from poultry and swine may be imported into the Islands in hermetically sealed metal cans from any country. (5) The only meat which may be imported into the Islands from Nicaragua is boneless meat. (6) In this regulation \u2014 \u201cthoroughly cooked meat\u201d means meat that has been subjected to heat treatment and which has attained a temperature of not less than one hundred and seventy degrees Fahrenheit at the central point for a period of not less than thirty minutes. The period from 1st February to the 31st July inclusive in each year is prescribed as a close season for the purposes of sections 2 and 67. (2024 Revision) Regulation 6 6. Limitation on number of game birds which may be taken 6. The limit on the number of game birds which may be taken by one person on any one day is \u2014 (a) twelve White-Winged Doves, twelve White-Crowned Pigeons or any combination thereof: Provided that the number of such birds taken shall not exceed twelve; and (b) three Blue-Winged Teal. taken\n6.\nThe limit on the number of game birds which may be taken by one person on any one\nday is \u2014\n(a)\ntwelve White-Winged Doves, twelve White-Crowned Pigeons or any\ncombination thereof:\nProvided that the number of such birds taken shall not exceed twelve; and\n(b) three Blue-Winged Teal.\nPART 4 - Control of Animals\n7.\nEstablishment of pounds and poundkeepers\n7.\nThe places and persons set forth in Parts I and II of the Fourth Schedule are\nestablished as pounds and appointed as poundkeepers respectively for the purposes\nof section 50.\n8.\nFee for service of notice of animals impounded\n8.\nThe prescribed fee for the service of notices for the purposes of section 51 is ten\ndollars per animal.\n9.\nFee for maintenance of impounded animals\n9.\nThe daily prescribed daily maintenance fee for impounded animals for the purposes\nof section 53 is ten dollars per animal.\n10.\nPoundkeepers remuneration\n10. For the purposes of section 48, poundkeepers are entitled to retain fifty per cent of all\nfees collected by them under regulation 8 and the whole of all fees collected under\nregulation 9.\n11.\nSeizure fees\n11.
