Cayman Islands Law Legislation & Treaties

About this site

A clean, fast, public reference to the law of the Cayman Islands. It brings the consolidated statute book, subordinate legislation and treaties into one place — readable, searchable, and honest about what is and is not current law.

How to read the badges

Every document and search result is labelled so current and non-current law are never confused.

  • In force  Current law you can rely on (subject to the consolidation note below).
  • Not yet in force  Enacted but not yet commenced.
  • Repealed Revoked  No longer law — kept for historical reference.
  • Spent  Has no continuing legal effect.
  • Bill  A proposal — not enacted, not law.

Point-in-time & consolidation currency

On any Act you can choose “View the law as in force on [date]” to read the version that applied on a chosen day. The reader selects the consolidated revision in force on that date.

Where amendments are in force but not yet folded into the consolidated text, a banner states “Consolidated to [revision]; N in-force amendments not yet incorporated” so you know to check those amending instruments. Always confirm against the official PDF before relying on a provision.
