19th November, 1998 A LAW TO AMEND THE PRISONS LAW; AND FOR INCIDENTAL AND CONNECTED PURPOSES ENACTED by the Legislature of the Cayman Islands.
#1. This Law may be cited as the Prisons (Amendment) Law, 1998.
Short title
#2. In this Law “the principal Law” means the Prisons Law.
Interpretation
#3. “corporal punishment”.
Section 2 of the principal Law is amended by the repeal of the definition of ~1nendmentofsection2 - Interpretation
#4. to any other punishment imposed by law, be ordered by the court of trial to
Section 36 of the principal Law is amended by repealing “may, in addition Alnendlnentofsection 36 - Convicts found guilty of certain offences while undergoing sentence Amendment of section 40 - Powers of summary court undergo corporal punishment and”.
#5. Section 40 of the principal Law is amended by repealing paragraph (c).
