SCHEDULE List of Public General Holidays Short title This Law may be cited as the Public Holidays Law (2007 Revision). Public General Holidays (1) The days listed in the Schedule are hereby declared to be Public General Holidays. (2) The Governor may, by Order, amend the Schedule. Courts and public offices to be closed All courts of justice and public offices shall be closed throughout the whole of each Public General Holiday: Provided that nothing shall in any way invalidate any provision of the Customs Law (2007 Revision), or any rule or regulation made thereunder: And Provided also that nothing shall be construed to prevent the Postmaster-General, subject to the approval of the Governor, making such special arrangements for keeping open Post Offices for such portion of any Public General Holiday as may appear to him to be necessary for the convenience of the public. SCHEDULE List of Public General Holidays New Year’s Day, or in case New Year’s Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, then the following Monday. Ash Wednesday. Good Friday. Easter Monday. The third Monday in May, to be known as Discovery Day in commemoration of the discovery of the Cayman Islands by Christopher Columbus on the 10th of May, 1503. The Monday following the Saturday appointed in the United Kingdom as the official birthday of the reigning sovereign. The first Monday in July, to be known as Constitution Day. The Monday after Remembrance Sunday. Christmas Day.
