Port Authority Act (1999 Revision) PORT (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2023 (SL 35 of 2023) In exercise of the powers conferred by section 13 of the Port Authority Act (1999 Revision), the Cabinet makes the following Regulations —

#1. Citation and commencement

#1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Port (Amendment) Regulations, 2023.

(2) These Regulations come into force on 1st January, 2024.

#2. Amendment of regulation 116 of the Port Regulations (2022 Revision) - cargo

dues

#2. The Port Regulations (2022 Revision), in these Regulations referred to as the

“principal Regulations”, are amended in regulation 116 as follows — (a) in paragraph (4)(a), by deleting the words “other than gasoline” and substituting the words “other than vehicles, gasoline”; and (b) by inserting after paragraph (4), the following paragraph — “(5) Cargo dues for imported vehicles shall be calculated at the following flat rates — (a) for a vehicle weighing less than six tons, $300.00; and (b) for a vehicle weighing six tons or more, $500.00.”.

#3. Repeal and substitution of regulation 120 - charge for handling cargo to, or

from, closed or covered storage

#3. The principal Regulations are amended by repealing regulation 120 and substituting

the following regulation —

“Charge for handling cargo to, or from, closed or covered storage

#120. The charge for trucking cargo from ship-side to the distribution centre at

the Industrial Park is — (a) for a container 20 feet long or less $60.00 (b) for a container more than 20 feet long but not more than 40 feet long $120.00 (c) for a container more than 40 feet long $135.00.”.

#4. Amendment of regulation 122 - cargo dues, handling charges, heavy lift

charges and tailgate charges, for containers

#4. The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 122(1) as follows —

(a) in subparagraph (a), by deleting the words “$353.81” and substituting the words “$400.00”;

(b) in subparagraph (b), by deleting the words “$16.65” and substituting the words “$20.00”;

(c) in subparagraph (c), by deleting the words “$16.65” and substituting the words “$20.00”; and (d) in subparagraph (d), by deleting the words “$16.65” and substituting the words “$20.00”.

#5. Amendment of regulation 128 - storage charges

#5. The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 128(2) by repealing

subparagraphs (a) and (b) and substituting the following subparagraphs — “(a) for cargo other than vehicles, for each day or fraction of each day, per ton or part ton; and $5.25 (b) for vehicles, for each day or fraction of each day.”.

#6. Amendment of regulation 129 - miscellaneous charges

#6. The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 129(8) by deleting the words

“$2.46” and substituting the words “$5.74”.
