MEMORANDUM OF OBJECTS AND REASONS
This Bill amends the Electricity Sector Regulation Law (2018 Revision) (“the ESR Law”), to ensure that the ESR Law is subject to the Public Authorities Law, 2017 (the PA Law”).
Clause 1 of the Bill contains the short title of the legislation.
Clause 2 of the Bill repeals and replaces section 92 of the ESR Law concerning conflict of laws to ensure that the ESR Law is subject to the the PA Law.

ENACTED by the Legislature of the Cayman Islands.
#1. This Law may be cited as the Electricity Sector Regulation (Amendment)
Law, 2018.
The Electricity Sector Regulation Law (2018 Revision) is amended by repealing section 92 and substituting the following section - “Conflict with other laws
#92. (1) Where there is any inconsistency between this Law
and any other Law, this Law shall prevail to the extent of the inconsistency, subject to subsection (2).

The Electricity Sector Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2018 (2) Where there is any inconsistency between this Law and the Public Authorities Law, 2017, the Public Authorities Law shall prevail to the extent of any inconsistency.”.
