CLERK AND DEPUTY CLERK OF THE COURT (POWERS) ACT

Short title This Act may be cited as the Clerk and Deputy Clerk of the Court (Powers) Act (2024 Revision). Powers of Clerk and Deputy Clerk Any commitment or other warrant, subpoena, summons or other form of process of any court prescribed by any law or subsidiary legislation and requiring to be signed by a Judge of the Grand Court or a magistrate may be signed by the Clerk of the Court or the Deputy Clerk of the Court, and if so signed shall, for all purposes, be as valid as if signed by such Judge or magistrate. Powers of Deputy Clerk Notwithstanding this or any other law or any subsidiary legislation made thereunder, the Deputy Clerk of the Court shall, for all purposes, have, exercise and perform all the functions, powers and duties conferred on the Clerk of the Court by any law, and any such exercise shall, for all purposes, be as valid as if exercised by the Clerk of the Court.
