Regulation 1

(TRANSITIONAL PROVISION) REGULATIONS, In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 23(5) and (6) of the Patents and Trade Marks Law, 2011 the Governor in Cabinet makes the following Regulations — Citation and commencement (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Patents and Trade Marks (Transitional Provision) Regulations, 2012. (2) These Regulations are deemed to have come into force on 7th December, 2011. Transitional provision (1) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Law, the owner of a patent or trade mark or his agent may transact business with the Registry without a registered agent during the period commencing on the date of commencement of these Regulations and ending on 31st March, 2012. (2) For the purposes of these Regulations “transact business” includes making an application or a request, giving notification and paying fees under the Law.
