THE ROADS LAW (REVISED) (Section 4 Declaration)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Governor in Council by section 4(1) of the Roads Law (Revised), it is hereby declared that:
The Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department and the Chief Surveyor of the Department of Lands and Survey, or any person or persons deputed by them, either alone or accompanied by such assistants and workmen as may be required, are authorised, subject to the provisions of section 4(2) of the Roads Law (Revised), to enter at ey reasonable times upon lands for the purpose of making such surveys as may be necessary to enable them to make plans and sections and estimates of the cost of proposed works for laying out any new public road or diverting or widening any part of an existing road for use by the public.

In exercise of the power conferred by section 5(3)(a) of the Roads Law (Revised), the Governor in Council hereby assigns or delegates, as may be appropriate, those of his
functions as Highway Authority which are described in the schedule hereto to the Chief Engineer of Public Works Department and the Chief Surveyor of the Department of Lands and Survey, or to any person or persons deputed by them.
