Regulation 1

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 57 of the Animals Law (1996 Revision) the Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Citation These Regulations may be cited as the Animals (Disposal) Regulations, 1997. Disposal of impounded animals (1) Where a·poundkeeper has put up an animal for sale in accordance with section 56 (1) of the Animals Law (1996 Revision) and the animal is not sold the poundkeeper shall so notify the C.A.V.O. and the C.A.V.O. may order the destruction or such other disposal of the animal as he deems appropriate. (2) Where an order has been made for the destruction or other disposal of an animal under paragraph (1), no compensation shall be payable to the owner of the animal.
