Regulation Amendment of regulation 2 of the Immigration (Transition) (Global Citizen Exemption)
Regulation 1
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 53 and 72 of the Immigration (Transition) Act (2021 Revision), the Cabinet makes the following Regulations — Citation These Regulations may be cited as the Immigration (Transition) (Global Citizen Exemption) (Amendment) Regulations, 2021. Amendment of regulation 2 of the Immigration (Transition) (Global Citizen Exemption) Regulations, 2020 - definitions The Immigration (Transition) (Global Citizen Exemption) Regulations, 2020, in these Regulations referred to as the “principal Regulations”, are amended in regulation 2 by inserting in the appropriate alphabetical sequence the following definition — “ “annual income”, in relation to an applicant, includes — (a) the annual salary of the applicant; (b) the annual salary of the applicant’s spouse or civil partner; any employment bonus of the applicant and the applicant’s spouse or civil partner;

(d) income from investments of the applicant and the applicant’s spouse or civil partner; (e) share dividends of the applicant and the applicant’s spouse or civil partner; and (f) any other form of recurring income of the applicant and the applicant’s spouse or civil partner, as approved by the Director of WORC.”. Amendment of regulation 3 - application for and grant of Global Citizen Certificate The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 3 by repealing paragraph (1) and substituting the following paragraph — “(1) A person who — (a) is employed outside of the Islands and intends to remain so employed if a Global Citizen Certificate is granted; (b) provides evidence to the Director of WORC that he or she has a continuous source of annual income which is not less than the following minimum amounts — Person/s to be present in the Islands Minimum annual income of the applicant USD 100,000 and one dependant USD 150,000 and two USD 168,000 and three USD 186,000 and four USD 204,000 and five USD 222,000 Applicant and more than five dependants At the discretion of the Director of WORC; and provides evidence that the income is generated outside of the Islands,

may apply to the Director of WORC in the form provided by the Director of WORC for the grant of a Global Citizen Certificate and, in support of such application, shall provide information, documents and fees in accordance with these Regulations.”. Amendment of regulation 7 - expiration of Regulations The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 7 as follows — (a) in paragraph (1), by deleting the word “2023” and substituting the word “2024”; and (b) in paragraph (2), by deleting the word “2021” and substituting the word Made in Cabinet the 2nd day of November, 2021.
