Police Act (2021 Revision) POLICE (INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE TO INTERNATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, In the exercise of the powers conferred by section 146(2) of the Police Act (2021 Revision), the Cabinet makes the following Regulations — Citation and commencement (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Police (Information and Assistance to International Law Enforcement Agencies) (Amendment) Regulations, 2024. (2) These Regulations come into force on 31st July, 2024. Amendment of regulation 2 of the Police (Information and Assistance to International Law Enforcement Agencies) Regulations, 2017 - Interpretation The Police (Information and Assistance to International Law Enforcement Agencies) Regulations, 2017 are amended in regulation 2 as follows — (a) by deleting the definitions of the words “beneficial ownership information” and “beneficial ownership register” and substituting the following definitions —

“ “beneficial ownership information” means information maintained on a beneficial ownership register for the legal persons specified in section 3 of the Beneficial Ownership Transparency Act, 2023; and “beneficial ownership register” has the meaning assigned by section 2 of the Beneficial Ownership Transparency Act, 2023;”; (b) in the definition of the words “competent authority”, by deleting the words “section 244 of Companies Law (2016 Revision)” and substituting the words “section 5 of the Beneficial Ownership Transparency Act, in the definition of the words “designated agency”, by deleting the words “Schedule 6 of the Companies Law (2016 Revision)” and substituting the words “the Schedule of the Beneficial Ownership Transparency Act, 2023”; and (d) in the definition of the words “international law enforcement agency”, by deleting the words “Schedule 6 of the Companies Law (2016 Revision)” and substituting the words “the Schedule of the Beneficial Ownership Transparency Act, 2023”. Amendment of regulation 3 of the Police (Information and Assistance to International Law Enforcement Agencies) Regulations, 2017 - application The Police (Information and Assistance to International Law Enforcement Agencies) Regulations, 2017 are amended in regulation 3 by deleting the words “Schedule 6 of the Companies Law (2016 Revision)” and substituting the words “the Schedule of the Beneficial Ownership Transparency Act, 2023”.
