The Cayman Islands (Legislative Assembly— Extension of Duration) Order 1971
Made 22nd December 197] Laid before Parliament 31st December 197] Coming into force 22nd January 1972
At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 22nd day of December 1971
Present, The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Her Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in Her by sections 5 and 7 of the West Indies Act 1962(a), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—
1.1) This Order may be cited as the Cayman Islands (Legislative Assembly—Extension of Duration) Order
#1971. (2) This Order shall be construed as one with the Cayman Islands Constitution Orders 1965 to 1971(b).
(3) This Order shall come into operation on 22nd January 1972.
#2. Sub-section (2) of section 47 of the Constitution of the Cayman Islands shall have effect as if for the words
"three years" there were substituted the words "four years".

EXPLANATORY NOTE (This Note is not part of the Order.)
This Order extends the maximum life of the Cayman Islands Legislative Assembly for a further year beyond the period of three years after its first meeting.
